The Head of Legal and Compliance Technology is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support for business systems, overseeing the business applications teams responsible for the Legal and Compliance functions. As a member of the Vista Technology Leadership Team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the overall technology strategy, ensuring alignment with Vista business strategy. Taking an end-user point of view, you will work with other technology and business stakeholders to develop an innovative roadmap to transform the way Vista's Legal and Compliance teams work.
Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the Legal and Compliance executive teams to advance the overall technology strategy while meeting the firm’s regulatory and compliance requirements.
Develop and implement solution roadmaps to ensure successful management of change across the organization.
Responsible for the overall maintenance of Legal and Compliance systems, including any related support or outsourced services.
Develop solution concepts and business cases for new technology investments. Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
Research and provide solutions and best practices to enhance business processes across the Legal and Compliance functions.
Act as the key liaison between Technology and functional teams to ensure the firm is meeting regulatory standards, information security controls, and records management policies across technology solutions.
Own and drive the end-to-end delivery of technology projects in partnership with the functional groups, Vista IT, technology program management, and external vendors.
Perform basic project management functions across Legal and Compliance technology projects, including development of overall plans with milestones and timelines, RACI, project updates and communication, and coordination with business project managers.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT management to develop annual budgets across all relevant platforms and functions.
Possess a broad knowledge of technical and business acumen and use that knowledge to effectively coordinate team members and external resources.
Collaborate with the Technology management team to maintain effective overall portfolio management, resource/capacity planning, and adhere to the firm’s delivery and project governance best practices.
Proactively respond to and resolve system and user issues.
Build out the technical and functional requirements for the system-related projects that Legal and Compliance are leading.
Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, human resources, finance, business administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Seven or more years of technology experience, or relevant experience managing and maintaining systems used in Financial Services functions.
Financial Services industry experience is required, ideally working with Legal and Compliance teams across multiple processes (regulatory/risk standards, record retention/document management, data management, security controls, business continuity, etc.).
Experience working with workflow technology, content management systems, supervision platforms for messaging/archiving, entity management, and business continuity platforms.
Possess strong analytical skills.
Understanding of regulatory reporting and solutioning technology in a highly regulated industry.
Effectively manage cross-functional teams and influence key stakeholders.
Ability to show discretion and poise in all situations and appropriate treatment of sensitive/confidential information.
Strong attention to detail, follow-up, and excellent organizational skills.
Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
The ability to function professionally under pressure, while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
Must possess personal tact, discretion, and good judgment. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Potential afterhours availability and ability to travel are required.
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $200,000-$275,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other reward may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
