Position Summary

As the SharePoint Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our Enterprise Content Management systems comprising of SharePoint, OneDrive, and Purview. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and support of SharePoint-based solutions that align with our business objectives.

 

The successful candidate will help us scale seamlessly during a period of high firm growth, while preserving a collaborative culture, maintaining high standards of service, and cultivating exceptional experiences in support of our brand.

 

This role is based in Austin, TX and is for an immediate start. Other Vista office locations (Chicago, New York, or San Francisco) will be considered for strong, well-qualified candidates.  Occasional travel is required.

Responsibilities

SharePoint Administration:

  • Manage permissions, user access, and security settings.
  • Manage site content and structure settings, site hierarchy, and site collection navigation
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the SharePoint platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SharePoint functionality, integration, and performance.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including archiving, backups, updates, and patch management.
  • Create web parts, lists/libraries, content types, site columns, and search navigation.
  • Review usage reports and perform usability testing to maximize adoption of the platform.
  • Build and execute PowerShell scripts.
  • Support file restore and external user access issues.
  • Resolve complex technical issues (Tier 3) and perform root cause analysis.

 

SharePoint Development and Customization:

  • Assist in the design, development, configuration, and customization of SharePoint sites, workflows, forms, and other collaborative features.
  • Implement SharePoint customization using tools like SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Power Apps/Automate, and PowerShell for automation.
  • Support data and file migration efforts.
  • Stay up to date on tools like SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Power Apps/Automate, and PowerShell and their capabilities.

 

 

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and recommend SharePoint-based solutions for process optimization and automation.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to site Owners and end users to promote effective and efficient use of SharePoint.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and manage expectations.

 

Governance and Compliance:

  • Support the development and maintenance of an effective SharePoint governance framework, ensuring compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Purview access, configuration, and operational updates in partnership with InfoSec and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Support the development of governance polices and enforce polices, best practices, and standards for SharePoint usage

 

Project Support:

  • Support SharePoint projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to project scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and consultants, if required, for SharePoint-related projects or enhancements.
  • Support post-implementation reviews to evaluate the success and impact of SharePoint solutions.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) working with SharePoint, including administration and development.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Entra, and Purview features, capabilities, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint customization using SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Power Apps, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint security, permissions, and access management.
  • Experience with SharePoint integration with other business applications and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $105,000-130,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
