Position Summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant to work in the General Partner (GP) Programs group. Successful candidates will have a fundamental understanding of fund accounting, investment operations, financial systems, and thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment.  This results-driven role requires frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders and offers exposure to other areas of a growing private equity firm. 

 

This role is hybrid out of our New York, Austin or San Francisco offices, and is for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of capital call and distribution workpapers, notices, and associated wires.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly and year-end financial statements and reporting.
  • Communicate with external auditors to respond to inquiries and provide relevant documentation.
  • Fund administrative activity including cash management, loan program maintenance, and reviewing monthly expenses.
  • Assist with responding to ad-hoc participant requests and inquiries related to carried interest.
  • Assist with system implementation (allocation and accounting) – including data input, data validation, and report maintenance.
  • Work with all levels on projects to enhance the product of the team, department and firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience with investment partnerships, and/or public accounting with either audit or tax experience
  • Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Creative problem solving demonstrating critical thinking
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels internally and externally.
  • Capable of handling highly confidential and sensitive information

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $120,000 - $135,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other reward may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
