Responsibilities

As Vista Equity Partners continues to scale, with assets under management exceeding $100 billion, the complexity of the firm’s regulatory, legal, and compliance obligations grows in parallel. The Information Technology team is seeking a Legal & Compliance Technology Business Partner to serve as the dedicated technology liaison for the firm’s Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams.

This is an individual contributor role sitting within Vista’s Information Technology team, with a primary support remit across Legal &Compliance. The Business Partner will serve as the day-to-day owner and subject-matter expert for the compliance and legal technology stack—including communications surveillance, archival, regulatory reporting, and policy management platforms. This individual will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, drive system implementations and enhancements, ensure regulatory alignment, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the regulatory environment that governs private equity firms and registered investment advisers, and can translate those requirements into effective technology solutions. They are hands-on, analytically rigorous, an excellent communicator, and motivated to grow within a high-performing and fast-paced organization.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance and legal teams on technology support, training, and platform troubleshooting.
  • Maintain the legal & compliance tool inventory, track contracts, renewals, and licensing, and flag consolidation or modernization opportunities.
  • Coordinate with technology teams on integrations between legal & compliance platforms and core infrastructure (e.g., Salesforce, Snowflake, data lake, identity management systems).

Support the Firm’s efforts to explore and implement AI-driven automation solutions that streamline manual processes and reduce costs within Legal & Compliance.  Deep hands on experience in AI tools such as Claude, Open AI and MS Co-Pilot, and experience in supporting AI Navive systems such as Norm.ai.

REGULATORY AWARENESS AND SYSTEM ALIGNMENT

  • Maintain a working understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting registered investment advisers, private equity firms, and broker-dealers, including SEC, FINRA, and applicable state and international requirements.
  • Translate evolving regulatory requirements into system configuration changes, new platform capabilities, and data retention or reporting enhancements.
  • Ensure that technology implementations and system changes meet compliance, audit, and recordkeeping obligations before deployment.
  • Support regulatory examinations and audits by producing technology-related documentation, data extracts, and system narratives as needed.
  • Monitor vendor regulatory posture and certifications, ensuring third-party platforms remain aligned with firm obligations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Legal & Compliance, and related technology industry standards and best practices through regular peer benchmarking and active participation in industry events

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DELIVERY

  • Lead or support technology projects from initiation through delivery, including new platform implementations, system migrations, and major enhancements.

  • Track and report on KPIs for the legal & compliance technology stack—including alert volumes, false-positive rates, archival completeness, and review turnaround times—flagging issues proactively.
  • Support change management, documentation, and training as new tools and capabilities are deployed to legal and compliance users.

COLLABORATION AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

  • Build trusted working relationships with senior stakeholders across Legal & Compliance, Information Security, and Operations and collaborate with L&C partners such as CAPS, Finance and Investor Servicing.
  • Partner with the broader Information Technology team on initiative prioritization, delivery planning, and operational support.
